Director of Pure Pilates
Sarah began her professional life as a dancer/artist performing in shows throughout Australia, Europe and America with a career spanning over 14 years in professional productions such as Cats and A Chorus Line. She has worked extensively through Australia and Europe with companies such as the VSO, The Australian Ballet School, Stella (Endenmol Holding) in Germany and performed in various televsion shows such as the Royal Gala at The Royal Albert Hall in London. Towards the end of her career Sarah was first introduced to pilates in Germany where she quickly discovered the benefits and began to take classes. After the birth of her first child she immigrated back to Australia and continued learning.
It wasnt until the birth of her 2nd son that Sarah went on to gain her qualification as an APMA Level 2 instructor quickly immersing herself in all genres of pilates including clinical, rehab, studio, mat,pregnancy, reformer, sport and classical pilates. Sarah has now 10 years of solid pilates teaching experience behind her. She has gained invaluable experience at various pilates studios and clinics in central Melbourne including the The Melbourne Wellness Clinic on Collins, Premier Sports and Spinal clinic and Living Energy Pilates. She has worked with a range of primary health care practitioners, such as osteopaths, myotherapists and physiotherapists and at Premier Sports and Spinal played a key role in developing a system that provided a training format for these practitioners to assisst their further learning in the pilates approach . Sarah is constantly trying to keep up with the latest research by continuing to further her education through accredited workshops and in house training and has a deep passion for the teaching process . “Pilates returned my body back to me pain free. Through training I was able to develop a deeper understanding and connection to my body, realise where I was creating incorrect movement patterns and as a result I was able to address these imbalances within the pilates studio which carried over to my work and home life.
Pilates is a learning process and provides a wonderful platform for just about anyone from any walk of life to gain a more thorough understanding and appreciation of their own body and the way it was meant to move……...
